The Women's Guild of Holy Spirit Parish promotes devotion to the Blessed Mother through prayer and service. Canonically established December 18, 1962, the group was originally called The Rosary Altar Society. In August of 1966 the group adopted the name Woman's Guild; the name was changed in 2022 to Daughters of Mary but has recently been reinstated to The Women's Guild. From its inception, the membership indicated interest not only in spiritual matters, but also in social welfare, education, health care, and senior citizens. Today, our activities include service to Birthright, Malta House, Dress for Success, the Haitian-American Religious Community of Stamford, to name a few. The Daughters of Mary also has taken on grounds beautification of church property and we maintain the altar. Over the years we have hosted many successful fundraisers that have made it possible for our group to purchase many beautiful liturgical items and other gifts for the parish. All our works are done with joy and dedication.

The Women's Guild also:

  • Encourages deepened spirituality, with guest speakers and on or off-site retreats

look for news about Advent by Candlelight coming December 6, 2024 with a notable speaker

  • Assists the pastor whenever needed
  • Sponsors various fundraisers for the church and community organizations
  • Encourages socialization with all women throughout the parish with various events such as our Social and Hospitality events, Craft and painting parties, Holiday Luncheon,  and Year-end Mass & Dinner.
  • Fosters community among the parish through sponsorship of the Advent Wreath Dinner.
  • Serves the larger community by working in tandem with our Men's group in hosting biannual Red Cross blood drives on our campus

We can be thankful to the Lord that our parish has a history of women who take their roles as disciples of Christ to heart and choose as their role model His closest and first disciple , Mary. Join in this beautiful and lasting tradition. Membership is open to all women of the parish 18 and older. Annual dues are $25. Look for a blue envelope in your September envelope box or sign up with our online form anytime.

We would love to meet you. Come to a meeting and then decide if you'd like to join!
