Our Lady of Fatima - Her Message for the Spiritual Struggles of Today

On Thursday evening, October 24, 2013, Holy Spirit parish was blessed to launch our new Distinguished Speaker Series with Father Andrew Apostoli, CFR, host of EWTN’s Sunday Night Prime, expert on Our Lady of Fatima, and chairman of the cause for canonization of Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

Father Apostoli’s talk was titled, “Our Lady of Fatima – Her Message for the Spiritual Struggles for Today.” He beautifully described to us the many apparitions of Our Lady to the three children of Fatima – Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco – as well as the later messages given to Lucia. The three secrets of Fatima were explained and placed into historical context, and the power of the devotions of the Rosary and the Five First Saturdays were revealed to us with great faith and passion. Father Apostoli’s deep understanding of these mysteries was palpable throughout his clear and engaging presentation

After the talk, Father Apostoli joined us in Holy Family Hall for a wine and cheese reception. There we were able to purchase some of his many books, including his latest: Our Lady of Fatima for Today- The Urgent Marian Message of Hope. Father Apostoli gave generously of his time to each of us who wished to speak with him and have him sign our books. His warmth and graciousness was a true beacon of Christ within him.
