A Living Sanctuary
"They are to make a sanctuary for me, that I may dwell in their midst.” Exodus 25:8
This is a life-changing request of the Lord. For according to St. Paul, it means we are to become living sanctuaries where God dwells. This is important to keep in our hearts and minds, for if we forget who we are, we forget what our buildings are for. They are to be to the honor and glory of God and to help form us into his living sanctuaries.
The exciting renovation of our church sanctuary, built in 1987, is meant to strengthen our God-given identity. Our mission for works of charity, prayer, and family life are intimately connected with the graces from altar, font and tabernacle, the beauty in which they are presented, the instruction they offer, and the sacraments they celebrate.
Accomplishing this goal assumes all of our prayers and financial support. Countless generations in the past have built churches to God’s glory and honor and left them as living testimonies for each generation – so that they too might be formed into those living sanctuaries. Please God, we at Holy Spirit Parish can now do the same for our parish family and for those who will come after us.
